Peppermint is a valuable asset in the house and on the farm.  This herb holds strong medicinal value besides its obvious use in tea, deserts, jelly, and as a seasoning on certain meats.  

Useful for relieving indigestion and headaches.  The essential oil of this plant contains Menthol which is useful for opening up the nasal passage when stopped up.  The essential oils from this plant can be used in soaps, lotions.

* TIP When added to sugarless applebutter – you can’t tell it doesn’t have sugar!  You don’t taste the peppermint but there is completed fullness.

The more you harvest, the more it will bush out and produce!

USES: Medicinal, Tea, Candy, Deserts, Sugarless Jelly, Meat Seasoning

Peppermint may be used

1. Immediately after harvest,

2. Mint may be frozen for winter months (for use in cooked dishes)

3. Peppermint keeps very well when dried for multi-purposes later


EASY:  YES!!! (very hardy perennial)

LIGHT:  Partial sun – full sun.  Can be grown indoors in well lit window.

SOIL:  Moderate - Rich

WATER:  Moist (mulching help retain moisture)

NOTE: Do NOT plant mint near parsley or chamomile.
