In the Blood – A Farm Journal

It was the fall of 2017… we began waiting.  The golden hues of leaves long gone had turned into the eve of winter and Christmas itself.  And still no cow’s milk in the pails… Almost a teasing!  A game of repeating false labor!

But another question  was tugging at our curiosity: WHO was the Daddy?...

Late Saturday afternoon the pasture was restless; the expectant Brown Swiss shifted uncomfortably while the other cows nervously caught the air of some change. Two sisters, mom, a neighbor, and I waited in the field. Our best cow had bred to a mysterious bull that spring.  Who fathered this calf would determine its destination.

Finally!!  With a struggle and heaving push, the calf presented!  The amniotic sack broke and two charcoal colored hooves tipped with white emerged; a soaked head and body followed.

The genetics were immediately obvious! What was on the inside clothed his structure, nature, and every part of his make up.  It was in the blood.  The Black Angus had sired him not the wild Jersey bull.

** Perhaps you may know that a baby’s blood comes from the Father – And if the daddy of a human baby or even a calf is in question, you can test the blood and know who sired him.  This is interesting... VERY interesting to study.

Who then was the Father of Jesus? And what made His blood special... different from any other man who died on a Roman cross?  It was not the seed of Joseph but the seed of God’s Holy Spirit that caused Mary to conceive.  Jesus’ Father was GOD, Himself. (Matthew 1:18)

Jesus had to die for every human fathered by a man because His blood was the only blood that did not carry the nature of sin (and Satan).

Man, without the blood of Jesus, is of a fallen nature  (Like a wild jersey prone to hurt you)  See Genesis 1-3, Roman 6:23 regarding man.  It’s like bad blood, a bad line of genetics that carries a disease you cannot escape.  It’s part of you.

Now a BLOODLINE is not EARNED - it is RECEIVED at birth…  Who Fathered you? You are sired of man; you need to be fathered by the Holy Spirit now.  It’s called being born again;  you become a child of God. (John 3)

There is no other way into heaven, no other way to God, no other way into the family except through the BLOOD of Jesus.  You receive it by faith, believing what God said is true: “that if you believe in your heart and acknowledge with your mouth that God did father Jesus to give you His blood so that you could be “born again” into His family.

*John 3:17-18,16
17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

* 1 Peter 1:18-21 “knowing that you were...redeemed... with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

* 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ (Jesus), he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

* Romans 10:9-10
That if you acknowledge with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
.

A baby boy was born in a cow’s feed bin. The blood of that baby is the reason we celebrate Christmas, because through blood we found favor, and our biggest need was met. The one way to God/ Life.
