"What do you have in your hands...

When what you have is not Enough?" Part II

What are you standing in front of, friend?

“What do you have?” Jesus asked, “Not enough to make this work.” They basically replied. (see John 6:1-13)

Five loaves of bread and two fish for a group of 5,000?
$25.00 to step out and go to another state with no house or certainty of work, but holding a dream?

This gets interesting. Not enough? Jesus knew what was in their hands when He directed them to do what was beyond themselves... (see John 6:1-13)

Then the very next day.  Jesus said: “I AM the bread of life...” (John 6:51) “This (bread)... is my body broken for you.” (1 Corinthians 11:24)

That last verse He declared as He blessed and broke the bread - even as He did for the multitude. This time it was the last supper and it signified His covenant with those who would receive Him as that life bread - “I am the bread that meets you in not enough and multiplies. I am ENOUGH..... for whatever you stand before.”   “This bread is my body... broken for you.”

Do you not have enough? Money, experience, favor, social grace (neither did Moses) Let me ask... Do you have that bread of life in you? The word made flesh (John 1) And His Holy Spirit?

If you have never accepted Jesus (the bread of life broken and multiplied for you) - He is enough. Without Him you don’t have enough... either for this life or the life to come - eternity.

Without Jesus, you do not have enough - not to stand on your own before God! What will you show Him? Your righteousness on your best day before His is like filthy toilet rags. (Isaiah 64:6)

Even to loose weight - you don't have enough in you - let alone to change the root behind the behavior. The issue is much deeper, and change is going to take the word and the Spirit- not another diet to patch the hole inside. “This is My body, broken as bread for you... enough to be made whole... spiritually, emotionally, physically.”

I use weight loss as an example, but it could be something else for you, the answer is still the word and the Spirit.  I have been there in many rooms of my heart. (Revelations 3:20)

How do I receive Jesus as the Bread of Life?

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” - Romans 10:9

Why this way? Believing and confessing?

Romans 10:10 says: “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

You can pray:

“Jesus, I believe you broke your body on the cross as the life bread for me. I believe you died and rose again to be my enough - in this life and in eternity- because I am not enough without you. So, I receive your gift: Your life... in me.  Please be my enough. Thank you, Jesus.”

1Cor 11:23 -25 For...the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me."  In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
