When Blood was Stronger than Soap
* FARM JOURNAL
In February's gone by, the bare trees donned a pure gown of white. .. and in the pastures beneath, baby goats "cartwheeled" and frolicked without a care. The breaking sun smiled over the white crested mountain, ushering the milk pails and heralding the day's chores. But with the fresh milk collected, there would commence a long process ahead: soap making to clean away the mud to come.
Let us leave the farm now and fast forward many months to a city street as the sun began slipping behind grey spiked buildings...
I once had a young man wondering through a campus street stop and ask me a strange question, “You seem very clean... Your goat milk soap will make me clean, but if the dirtiness is inside me... how does one clean the inside?”
I think my mouth dropped within me... Yes the question was odd but I recognized what he was asking .
Friend, how do you become clean when your mind is dirty, your life is dirty, and you’re heart is stained? ... And there is so much bad that has happened...
At my table, there sat a bar of Goat Milk Soap titled “Pure and Sweet”. Let me use it for example ...
If you are dirty, you apply soap to your skin, and there is power within those suds to cleanse - but only skin deep.
The filth deep inside one's heart and mind cannot be cleansed with a bar of goat milk soap ...
Can you ever be clean of inward stains and a mind that is burnt by baggage?
“How much more shall the BLOOD of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, CLEANSE your conscience from dead (things) to serve the living God?” - Hebrews 9:14
As soap has power to cleanse dirt from the skin, the blood of Jesus has the power to cleanse your conscience/ heart pure.
It is your choice to apply. Because, you can go in a shop full of soap and leave just as dirty - even though that soap is potent and was near your skin multiple times.
This is the case with the Blood of Christ.
Until you actually apply it to those stinking areas and dirty places, you remain dirty...
The power to change you is very near but it will do you no good if you do not accept and apply it for yourself.
